LIVING BY REVELATION – Timi Ologunoye

2COR. 12:1-7
It’s a new month again, glory be to God! May revelations from the almighty God terminate all your frustrations this season. You will move from being a victim to a victor. If you have been hearing and reading about other people’s stories and testimonies, it’s time for others to read yours in the name of Jesus. Amen. There is a good story about you that must be read and heard in your generation, get set to manifest it!

“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law” Deut.29:29. Revelation interpreted from Hebrew means “veil drawn back” simply connoting that restricted access is taken away. There is always a way out of every predicament you may find yourself. Prov. 11:9 says “…Through knowledge shall the just be delivered”. The knowledge of the truth is what guarantees the deliverance of the saints. “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”Jn.8:32. It means that our freedom and conquest in life is dependent on the amount of the revelation of the truth that is available to us. Nothing strengthens a man like revelation!

This lifestyle begins with a personal revelation of God to you. Many of us believe and try to build our lives and walk by the explanation of God that we have. No sir! Until God is revealed, you can’t break into that supernatural realm. And you cannot go beyond the level you have seen as a person because God can’t be explained, He can only be revealed. For you to stand out of the crowd, you need a personal revelation of God.
Revelation is our only guarantee for continuous triumph in life. Until what is “written” becomes real to you by the force of revelation, you cannot control what is “happening”. It is true that darkness is everywhere around, even Isa.60:2a affirms “for behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people…” but the darkness is not our problem; but the absence of light that makes us victims of darkness. This is why in continuation, Isaiah says, “…but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light and kings to the brightness of thy rising”. That light which draws attention to you and keeps you rising is revelation sir! Light does not negotiate with darkness, when it comes in, darkness disappears. So, it is with revelation. Every challenge bows out with the revelation of the way out of it. “And the light shineth in darkness; and darkness comprehended it not”Jn.1:5.

Our General Overseer once narrated a story where in company of some brethren he has been praying for several hours that a child of God who suddenly died untimely should be brought back to life and after so many hours of fruitless prayers, the Lord revealed to him that they should just give Him praise. Within five minutes of praise to God, the dead sneezed back to life! Halleluiah!!! What great waste of effort can be avoided by men who live by revelation!!! Living on this horizon is to be constantly guided by instructions from the Lord. Any instruction that does not have its roots from God’s word is demonic, it’s of the devil and you must never embrace it. Jesus said, “For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me…what I should say, and what I should speak…whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”Jn.12:49-50 .Jesus was constantly guided by revelation, little wonder he was perpetually in control of circumstances!
It is interesting to know that when God is leading you, He supplies the light and insight you need to walk the path that he has charted for you. What you require to move from where you are to the realization of His purpose for you comes with His voice and His word. He teaches us the way to go, He directs us to the books and resources to read or listen to, and shows which step to take, so we are not living by guess work. His light validates His plan for us. If you lack his light, you have no revelation from Him and you will need to check again whether you are following His plans or yours.

Every provision of the scriptures requires a genuine spiritual thirst for it to be accessed. One powerful way to receive revelation is from God’s word and it is fundamentally accessible by a thirst, “Ho, every one that thirsted, come ye to the waters” (Isa.55:1). Until you come thirsty, discarding your own ideas about how to resolve your issues, you cannot access revelation from the word of God. Secondly, the ‘meeker’ you are, the greater your access to revelation. To be meek is to be humbly patient, gentle and kind. Moses was said to be the meekest of all men of his days and he walked in the highest realm of revelation for all times (Num.12:1-3). Thirdly, the level of the fear of the lord in operation in your life will determine the limits of access to depth of the truth. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments…” You can’t keep operating on the same frequency with the world and expect God to reveal to you the way to get things done.

It takes a spiritual force to gain access to the mysteries contained in the word of God. Fulfilling our destinies will be a mirage until we can force our way through the revelations in the Bible. Unfortunately, these barriers pose the greatest battle in this kingdom. “And I wept much because no man was found worthy to open…the book…And one of the elders saith unto me, weep not: behold, the lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath travailed to open the book, and to lose the seven seals thereof”Rev.5:4-5.So, Jesus is your only security in winning the war against access to the book.

It took the blood of Jesus to open up an eternal access for us, and when that access appears blocked, you must lay hold on the blood to enforce its reopening. This process begins with giving your life to Jesus and allowing Him to come into your heart and dwell as your Lord and Saviour. It is then the revealed things can belong to you and your children for ever. I just hope you can decide to do that just right now.

Revelation is the key. Find it, think it, talk it and Live it. This is what makes all the difference.
